Rehmani meets British diplomat, condemns Aziz's arrest


Islamabad Feb18,05: (KMS) Convenor All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Pakistan and AJK Chapter Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Friday held a meeting here with the Senior Political Secretary of the British High Commission Peter Boxer.
During the meeting they scrutinized the latest developments in the Indo-Pak relations with special reference to the Kashmir issue. They endorsed the viewpoint that the on-going peace process would be result-oriented only provided if the atrocities and killings perpetrated by the Indian forces in the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are stopped.
In addition, it was agreed that the black laws, which are in contradiction with the Universal laws and principles and in practice in the occupied territory by the Indian authorities, must be abolished.
Rehmani drew attention of the British diplomat towards the acceleration in the human rights violations and the cases of disappearances and related events that took place in Indian occupied Kashmir in the last couple of months.
He further called on the British diplomat to arrange a visit to Indian occupied Kashmir and view the on-ground situation there. "Trust need to be developed among the Kashmiris," Rehmani opined.
Acknowledging the holding of tri-partite dialogue for the resolution of the Kashmir imbroglio, Peter Boxer said that conducive atmosphere should be created for the inclusion of the Kashmiris in the Indo-Pak peace process.
Meanwhile, Convenor APHC has strongly condemned the arrest of prominent Hurriyat Conference leader and chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Shaikh Abdul Aziz by Indian police in New Delhi. "Aziz's arrest is illegal," Rehmani said, adding, "He must be released at the earliest.
