INDIAN HR ABUSES ON INCREASE DESPITE CBMs: APHC AJK
Islamabad, March 24|05 :A delegation of APHC AJK chapter today met Tim Enderlin, the Deputy Head of the Mission of Switzerland at the Swiss Embassy, and apprised of the latest situation in occupied Kashmir, reports Kashmir Media Service.
Convenor, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani led the delegation, which also included General Secretary Malik Muhammad Abdullah and Ishtiaq Hameed.
The APHC delegation told the Swiss diplomat that despite confidence building measures and re-opening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service, there is no let up in Indian human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
Convenor Farooq Rehmani said, though Pakistan and India were able to bring a thaw in their strained relations but India was still not allowing the APHC leaders to travel outside by not issuing them travel documents.
Tim Enderlin, on the occasion, acknowledged that there can be no solution to Kashmir dispute unless India stop human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir. The Swiss diplomat said, Kashmir issue is a very complicated issue and a mutual trust and understanding needs to be developed between India and Pakistan to address this vexed issue. He said, Switzerland is ready to play a role in the resolution of Kashmir issue if desired.
The APHC delegation expressed gratitude over the Swiss government desire to help resolve the Kashmir issue. The delegates appealed the Switzerland government to play its role in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of the people of Kashmir.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the people of occupied Kashmir must be involved in any effort aimed at resolving this dispute
