04|05 (KMS): All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Azad Kashmir Chapter,
Convenor Mohammad Farooq Rehmani said that the long standing Kashmir
issue cannot be resolved unless the Kashmiris are made a party to it
and it is resolved as per their wishes and aspirations.
This was stated by Farooq Rehmani during a meeting with Ambassador
of Denmark Bent Wigotski at the Danish embassy in Islamabad on
Friday. APHC convnor was accompanied by APHC members Khadim Hussain,
Pervaiz Ahmad and Ishtiyaq Hamid. They enlightened the Danish
Ambassador about the latest situation of Indian Occupied Jammu and
Kashmir and the exchange of CBM's between India and Pakistan. It was
observed that Muzaffarabad-Srinagar bus service was a break through
in Pak-India relations.Both the sides pressing on the peaceful
resolution of the Kashmir tangle maintained that so many lives have
already been lost for the attainment of the right of self
determination for Kashmiris and it is high time for the
international community to raise voice in Kashmiris' favour.Danish
Ambassador Bent Wigotski said that the Danish Embassy in New Delhi
was in constant touch with the Indian authorities about the overall
situation especially that in the Jammu and Kashmir.
"Though Denmark is not a permanent member of the Security Council
however being a European Union member we would do our best to bring
peace to this region of the world," Wigotski said.Regarding the
option of tri-partite resolution of the Kashmir issue, Rehmani
asserted, "This long standing issue cannot be resolved unless and
until the Kashmiris are made a party to it and it is resolved as per
their wishes and aspirations."Regarding the on-going Indo-Pak peace
process, both the parties welcomed the it saying, "It could bear
fruits only if pragmatic steps are taken for the resolution of the
Kashmir issue."APHC members thanked the Danish Ambassador for giving
them a patient hearing and for appreciating the necessity to resolve
the Kashmir conflict as per the wishes and aspirations of the people
of Jammu and Kashmir. |
