Hurriet
Conference
All Parties Hurriet Conference is a misnomer as per the real sense of the its prefix “All”. The name gives wrong impression that it is the amalgam of every freedom fighting group of Kashmir. No, that is not the case. The amalgam is ruled by every leader of the seven member executive council for the last 7years. The General Body of APHC claims to represent about two dozen groups, but not necessarily freedom fighting parties. Every G.B member is a figure head in this body, having no role to make or unmake the executive council or its policies.
The fact is that the door of APHC executive
Council is not open to all the freedom fighting groups or such
personalities. The age of APHC will never reach the age of some devoted
and steadfast leaders of freedom movement.
Some observers divide
the 7APHC
members
among hawks and doves. But, this definition is vague and
confusing.
The constitution of APHC has incorporated in it both ideologies,
i.e, accession under UN resolutions and complete independence. Both the
schools of thought claim support by Pakistan.
APHC, claims to enjoy sole representative character in Kashmir. The
claim always remained
disputed among freedom
fighting circles. It needs to be judged by fulfilling some basic pre
-requisites of democratic norms, otherwise very soon they may became
totally politically
redundant. They must keep in mind that the
odyssey of freedom is never carried on in the manner they do. Self
interests are sacrificed, not protected unduly and improperly.
Accountability is the chief factor to lead to solution and political
freedom. People who do not bother about their self interest in their
sacred goal for humanity or a
national cause, are protected by
Allah Almighty Himself. APHC leadership, individually and collectively
must address some basic
political and moral code and no leader should talk boastfully. Allah warns
and hates boasters in Koran. The
Hurriet conference should amend its constitution to acknowledge other
genuine freedom fighting groups and personalities. Only then it deserves
to be called an alliance of freedom fighters of Kashmir. Otherwise time's
tide
will change according to the universal law. The
Hurriet Conference opened a chapter in Pakistan as early as 1993/94. Its
character and relevance will be discussed latter. #END#
