TV channels asked to blackout news of Hurriyet leader in Kashmir

Srinagar, February 05 : In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have warned local TV channels against airing content of peaceful demonstrators protesting the continued gross human rights violations by troops in occupied Kashmir.

The authorities have ordered more strictly to Channel operators in Kashmir valley as compared to their counterparts in Jammu. “The channels are asked to refrain from telecasting news regarding the ongoing liberation movement and against the human rights violations. They are directed to totally blackout the statements of the APHC and other Hurriyet leaders, ” said a channel operator.

The authorities including district magistrate and the senior superintendent of the police was reported to have directed the channels not to air news that went against the government of India and its authorities or had the potential to lead to protest against them.(KMS)
