Population More than 12 million in O.K., AK and                Gilgit Beltistan. 2/3 area illegal & forcible occupation of India.

Neighbors :  North:- Central Asian State of

North West:- Afghanistan,
 South West:- Pakistan (lengthy border)
South East:-India

Majority   : Muslims 85%

Minority   :  Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Christian.

Status       : Unresolved, awaiting plebiscite under UN

Cause of Dispute  :  Forcible occupation by India, under a  fraudulent accession by Maharaja Harisingh on 27 Oct 1947.
