INDO-PAK TALKS-MFR

[PFL]May 11[2003Islamabad(PR):

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman J&K People’s Freedom League has urged on India to abandon militarism in  Kashmir, confine troops in barracks, abolish all black laws including the disturbed Areas Act, show open hearted response to Pakistans’ hand of peace to resolve Kashmir issue according to the wishes of the people to lay down  a permanent foundation of peace in South Asia. People’s Freedom League Chairman categorically stated that every road map for peace in South Asia passed through Kashmir and the security and prosperity of all present and future  generations rested on a just and honorable solution of Kashmir dispute, and any further delay in its resolution could further plunge innocent people in bloodbath and jeopardize honour and safety of women  and children  in Kashmir.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani  demanded immediate indo-Pak talks without pre-conditions and said if India was sincere, she should not harp on so called cross-border activities, as she  had intensified killing and humiliating of Kashmiris in  recent weeks, threatening social/family life of people because of tyranny of army and police. He said that the interference of army and police in the homes of people  had given rise to psychological diseases  among girls and boys, and they were  on run for shelter elsewhere for honor and safety, but were hanging between devil and deep blue sea. PFL chairman said that a powerful mafia interlinked with army and police was sabotaging  public life and honor  and abusing fundamental  rights for the last 14 years. Therefore, it was of paramount importance to resolve Kashmir, save Kashmiris from nuke holocaust and break power of mafia in Kashmir and protect age old culture and civilization of people on this beautiful peace of land.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that a cordial environment between India and Pakistan during the last few weeks should be strengthened more and more by respecting wishes and sacrifices of Kashmiris, otherwise the situation would be complicated again and more and more troop contingents would not bring peace in Kashmir, as nobody could forget martyrs. He said, Kashmiris sincerely wished Indo-Pak talks at the beginning, but any road map or road maps would be subjected to the approval of Kashmiris, whose search for the right of self-determination was recognized by UN. This could facilitate Indo Pak joint efforts for peaceful resolution of conflict in the region. He said that if India did hanky-panky under the cover of talks, she would never succeed  in its designs , she would be on thorns in Kashmir, would bleed economically and militarily  and be vulnerable to political instability and international weakness. He said Indian claim of free poll was farce; she should prove her claim in a free and fair way under UN supervision. He said, India should honour her pledges with Kashmiris, refrain from talking with a gun in hand and foot on Kashmiri chest.
